yeah, my friend did the exact same thing on his saab that has very smiliar grill set up. i've actually been wanting to do the same thing as you for a while now, thanks for reminding me. yeah, go to home depot for a bunch of different mesh.
I once asked if anyone had ever put a mesh grill on there 97, but was receiving info on the wrong area of the front end, this is the section i would like to put the mesh grill because there are a few pieces that are missing, I was thinking of painting the grill black. Keep in mind that the color of my car is not purple its actually more of a red (don't know why my camera makes it look that way, maybe cause it sucks majorly) how do you think it would look and can i get it from home depot or something like that instead of ebay thanks in advance

Im going wednesday morning to home depot to buy some mesh, I hope that it looks as good as i imagine it will. and if i remember im going to buy what i need to make clear rear side markers...
there hard to see but look:
tell me what u think
is that a dent in the front of your car or is that a glare?
dent... i bought the car like this a month ago for around 3g so its all cool
i bought my 96 S a couple of months ago for $1,000, no dents.
but it had a messed up tranny wich cost me 1000 to replace.
slut the grill on ur car don't look bad at all..it's pretty cool looking good job. What did u make it out of and how did u attach it?
home depot gutter guard, twist ties. and just bending the metal
how do u think a chrome grill would look?
i have a good idea of how to make it in like less than a minute, i think it would on a maroon color 7g
oh and it wouldnt be a chrome mesh grill, it would have the same shape as stock but it would just be chrome.
MISOBITCHI,
I tried to do it once on my 98 in that area (The "mustache") and I could not figure a way to hold the mesh in well enough. If you take some pliers and squeeze the back of the retainers holding one of the grills in it should pop out. Now look at how it is seated there, really not much to look at. The only thing I could figure is to either cut out the entire section that holds the little grill to the bumper.. or.... take that little grill and cut out the center as much as possible so that you just have basically a frame left. Glue the mesh to that frame and slap it back on the bumper.
I wanted to do this to match my air dam down below but it seemed like too much of a hassle.. maybe you'll have more inginuity than I did.
I can tell you that I have never seen it done well.
Someone did that to their black 7g. I saw it like a month ago.Originally Posted by GalantGuy96
